Noting that his psychiatrist called his actions “compulsive behavior” and that he is “not in a position to disagree,” Adame wrote, “I secretly appeared on an adult cam site. On this site, I acted out my compulsive behaviors, at home, performing on camera for other men. It was 100% consensual on both sides. I wasn’t paid for it, and it It was absurd of me to think I could keep this private, but my employer found out and I was suspended and then fired.

“First and foremost, I unequivocally apologize to my employers at Spectrum, my colleagues, my audience, my family and my friends for any embarrassment or humiliation I have caused you. You expected and deserved better from my part,” he continued. “I can’t go back and I can’t change what I’ve done, but I’m getting the professional help I need to be able to make appropriate decisions that don’t affect those I care about and my career. , as I move forward in my life.

Adame made a point of stressing that while he regrets his appearance on the site, he rejects any criticism that may arise about his sexuality.

“As a public figure, I recognize that I have certain responsibilities that go along with the privileges that I have enjoyed. But, let me be clear on one thing: I make no apologies for being openly gay or HIV-positive – these are freebies and I have no shame in them,” the post read.

Additionally, he wrote a plea to potential future employers: “Please judge me on the hundreds, thousands of hours of television I’m so proud of and my employers have always praised me for, not the few minutes of salacious video that will probably soon define me in our click-bait culture.

He also filed a lawsuit against Unit 4 Media Ltd. to find the identity of the anonymous user who disclosed their content on the adult site. The Daily Beast got the litigation first.

Adame has been a meteorologist for Spectrum News since 2007. Spectrum News did not respond to Varietyrequest for comment.
